Edmonton's
Rebar was number one and Alberta swept the top two spots in a top-10 list
of the worst public washrooms in Canada, published in this month's issue
of Exclaim, a nationally-distributed alternative music magazine.
Halifax band Plumtree provided a list of the worst washrooms following a cross-Canada tour. Popular Edmonton nightclub Rebar topped the list, despite an ear-catching advertisement that's been running lately on local radio station CJSR, suggesting that "We aim to please. You aim too, please." No word from Plumtree on whether Rebar regulars have been aiming at the toilet, but the top-10 list does point to "a strung-out flamboyant drag queen in a sparkly black dress" who apparently set his/her sights on band member Lynette. Calgary's Night Gallery placed second for the all-girl Plumtree, thanks to a doorless men's can placed strategically between the stage and equipment storage room. |
